Contacting my Artist and Why I Chose Them

Initial steps. 

In order to fit the brief I was looking for a singer/song writer/band who were unsigned. This lead me to my first contact, coincidentally I am a manager of a local, up and coming band called 'The Episodes', so getting permission to use a song of theirs was easy for me. I contacted the band and asked if it was okay for me to use one of their songs and they said it was fine, and asked which one I would like to use. From there I went to their YouTube and looked for an 'anthem' single.

After considering many different songs, i finally decided to go with their song called '3 Song'. Unfortunately after a few days of rough planning i realised that the genre of song was not correct for the image I had planned for my music video. After major though and decision-making I decided to reconsider the song that I had decided to use

I was coming home from school and listening to my music, when a song by Josh Record came on. I hadn't listened to this song in a while, and when I did listen to it again the first thing that came to mind was that it would make a really good accompanist to the music video I had envisioned for 'The Episodes'. At this point I began to feel quite confident, and thought I would try to contact the musician. I found his twitter and followed his account. I tried to contact the artist through is Facebook account. Unfortunately I had no luck, or reply. At this point I was still feeling confident, so I decided to check his twitter account for any methods of contact. This is where I found the contact details for Josh Records manager, Daniel Tuffin. I contacted him immediately. To my surprise, he replied very quickly, confirming my use of the song in a music video. After I have finished my video I am going to send it to him to see their views and opinions and if I really grasped the concept of the track.
